Our Story

We want to share taste of Colombia with you!

Macondo is the result of hard work that started over a decade ago as a catering company that served offices all over the Bay Area. The catering company Maite was loved for it's fresh, house made Arepas, Empanadas and other Latin inspired dishes that were served for breakfast, lunch and diner. After the pandemic and work from home transition of the office space we decided to open a location where our cuisine could be served and shared with everyone.

IT'S ALWAYS A Room AT Macondo! WE'LL SEE YOU SOON!

Macondo is a fictional town described in Gabriel García Márquez's novel, One Hundred Years of Solitude. It is the home town of the Buendía family. The yellow butterflies of our logo appear in the novel “Cien años de Soledad” (hundred years of solitude) and are a symbol of the author's creativity. In Macondo Colombian Fusion those yellow butterflies mean happiness, love  and imagination that characterize each of our arepas and empanadas.

We invite you into the magical world of Macondo Colombian Fusion!!
