Colombia Runs in Our blood
Macondo is the result of the hard work of a Colombian family who discovered a passion for cooking in 2010. In that year, the owners started a private catering company that has had a great reputation in the Bay Area. Macondo was born from the passion and inspiration of its owners.
Macondo Colombian Fusion is characterized for offering its clients unique culinary experiences. We are constantly inspired by the cuisine and culture of Colombia, and it shows on our Arepas and empanadas´ menu.
Living the experience at Macondo is taking those Latin American flavors to your palate that are nowadays part of the current context of Bay Area.
Macondo and yellow butterflies...
IT'S ALWAYS A Room AT Macondo! WE'LL SEE YOU SOON!
Macondo is a fictional town described in Gabriel García Márquez's novel, One Hundred Years of Solitude. It is the home town of the Buendía family. The yellow butterflies of our logo appear in the novel “Cien años de Soledad” (hundred years of solitude) and are a symbol of the author's creativity. In Macondo Colombian Fusion those yellow butterflies mean happiness, love and imagination that characterize each of our arepas and empanadas.
